After watching some more of Xam’d I thought i’d have a look around for any AMv’s of the show, suprisingly there are very few that I could find, though after watching the ones I found, this one is, in my opinion the best for it’s quality of video editing and style. Enjoy!
Watched the frst two episodes last night. First impression of the show, I was pretty well impressed.
Animation was very sharp, being as this was a High Definition release it’ was to be expected. The whole show is beautifully coloured and has a very nice feel to it. From the first two episodes the story already promises to be something special, as usual, many questions are raised, but unlike a lot of shows i’ve seen recently I actually care what the answers will be and want to watch more to find out what is going on and how things came to be how they are where the story sets off. I am keen to find out about how the characters are going to be linked to each other and how their paths will cross, wondering what plot twists are waiting for them.
Overall a very enjoyable show so far, i’m anxious to know what will happen next and how things will work out for those charaters who’s fates are intertwined willingly or by sheer accident with our would be star of the show, who seemingly has no choice in the matter of sharing his body with the Xam’d Lost Memories.
After recently re-watching Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0: You Are [not] Alone, it got me thinking about how much there is still unanswered in the story, well unanswered in my mind, we all come to our own conclusions on these things afterall. So while we wait for either more questions or some answers in the next installment of Rebuld of Evangelion, entitled “You Can [not] Advance”, which is set for release in Japan on the 27th June 2009.
But while we wait for that I have found an excelent AMV with a very relivent song to go along with it. Enjoy!
Well as i said in my last post recently i’ve gotten round to watching some new anime shows while trying to learn more Japanese .
So thought i would post some trailers of the current shows im keeping up with will add more to a future post as i add more to my watch list, will add reviews for the shows in later posts.
ToLuveRU
Your usuall good fun show full of fan service and mindless comedy thats how we like it although it does seem to be very similar to some other shows of the same type i.e. Chobits, Dears etc but if your after a show to just have some fun with then i’d give it a shot.
Macross Frontier
Another show im really enjoying watching has to be this, i’ve always been a big fan of the Macross movies and serieses and from the first episode im really getting into it, in fact i may just go watch some more after this post.
Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora 1
Last but not least a really nice slice of life anime, you can read my review of it here.
So thats it for now i’ll be sure to have more on my watch list in the not too distant future, maybe i’ll even start watching shows like one peice and Bleach again if i can get back into them that is, if anybody has any suggestion on what you think i should be watching please leave a comment.
A good slice of life with a twist that’s what’s on the agenda today, recently i finally got off my arse and started to watch some of the new shows out in Japan from a random selection of shows like ToLoveRu and Macross Frontier i thought I’d choose some random show i new nothing about and give it a try and this is what i ran into other than the fact I’d never remember the name in an entire lifetime.
There is just something about the show that keeps me watching whether its because of the twist of it being set in a believable Japan and there being people who can use magic or if its just because its so nice to watch, here are a few of my musings of the first two episodes that ill be sure to keep up with it as its released.
It starts on a small countryside farm in Japan in a place called biei, with who i assume to be the main character of the show Suzuki Sora and from what we see from the start she seems to have been chose for her magic ability to join a magic school in Tokyo, she visits her mother as she is tending to there crops when her mother brakes the news to her that she wil be leaving for Tokyo to join the magic school, other than the twist of magic everything about the show makes you think its just your normal everyday slice of life anime.
Then we follow Sora as she go’s about her daily life in biei and see that she is leaving a good friend and her way of life behind to go to busy hot Tokyo.
Episode 2
Arrival in Tokyo, we finaly get to see some more of Sora’s magic in action as she saves an old lady and a guy who we are soon to see is also part of her school but doesn’t seem to be too talented from initial impressions as Sora finally arrives at her school although a bit late, we soon see that Sora seems like she could be very talented but faces competition from two other classmates.
Animation!
Definitely one of the strong points about the show is the animation its mix’s really well done animation with real life photo’s that blends so well to bring together a believable world and if you like me and love everything about Japan it gives you a nice view of what its like to live there.
Summary
Excellent my graduation back into the world of new anime has been a good one if there are to be other shows like this one and i welcome all suggestions if there are some more i should be adding to my watch list , to end my post all i have to say is go watch if you like your slice of life anime then its a must see even if not its atleast one to take a look at
My Yoko figure arrived just the other day, will get them added soon along with the Needa ones which I just have not had time to sort out yet. I was almost put off from buying this one, due to the pictures I saw of it did not show it’s detail or really entice me too much. But I am glad I got it in the end. It’s the biggest Figure I have, but like most of them I have it’s also 1/7 Scale. There is another Yoko Figure I was also looking at, which I decided not to bother with now, for the time being anyway, looks pretty good but now i’m not in any rush as this one turned out to be great. I’ll give it a full review once I have got all the photo’s sorted.
Only just seen this KOSMOS figure, at first glance I want it! Yes, it has been out a while, and yes, it is sold out. But it’s getting a Re-Release in November, so as this was the only KOSMOS figure out I like, I don’t think i’m going to miss out on it’s Re-Release.
Was feeling a little down, so I thought what i’d do is find some crazy AMV’s to perk me up, instead I found this awesome Cowboy Bebop AMV! Have not seen this AMV in ages. Depressing as hell, but it goes so well with the show, and like the show it’s just great.
As previously mentioned, Funimation made a deal to release “Select”Geneon titles. The first titles for release have been scheduled. Black Lagoon The Second Raid is the one I have been waiting for since Geneon went under. Luckily it’s one of the first to be released so not much more waiting, then Volume 2 is out the following month!
August 19: Black Lagoon season 1 Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage volume 1 Elemental Gelade volume 1
September 2: Karin volumes 1-4 Kyo kara Maoh! season 2 Vol. 1-7
September 9: Shakugan no Shana series box
September 16: Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage volume 2 Fate/stay Night series box Hellsing Ultimate volumes 1-4 Rozen Maiden series box
September 23: Kamichu! series box Paradise Kiss series box
While i’m still waiting on my Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0 - You Are (Not) Alone coming though the post, well I am not even completely sure I managed to get one in time, as it has been quite a while since I ordered it and it’s Japanese release, and it’s not showing them as in anymore. So to bide my time for when or if it arrives I thought I would find a couple of AMV’s, Enjoy!
FUNimation have announced that they have signed a deal with Geneon, to begin releasing select Geneon titles. Among the first to be released will be Hellsing Ultimate, followed by Black Lagoon Second Barrage, Karin, Kyo kara Maoh! Season 2, and Lyrical Nanoha. It was bound to happen at some point. I am just glad it didn’t actually take that long for them to sign a deal with another company to get some of those Geneon titles back into production and get those unfinished series’ finished off.
So now it’s just a case of waiting for a release schedule, then time to get those unfinished series’ finally finished. Although we will have to wait and see if they reproduce the Geneon versions so you could finish off the series’ straight away, but my money is on them starting from scratch, producing their own box art, covers, descriptions etc…
The currently announced releases are:
Black Lagoon Black Lagoon Second Barrage Ergo Proxy Hellsing Ultimate Karin Kyo kara Maoh! Season 2 Lyrical Nanoha Elemental Gelade Fate/stay night Kamichu Ninja Vixens Paradise Kiss Rozen Maiden Rozen Maiden - Träumend Shana Shonen Onmyouji The Familiar of Zero The Story of Saiunkoku The Law of Ueki When They Cry

I have been too busy this last week, not really had any time to myself, so I have been a little short on updates. That aside, my new figure arrived on Friday! Shuraki Trinity Box 04: Needa. Most of the photo’s are taken, but there is soo many items that come with the figure I will end up with about 60 photo’s to post! keep your eye out for that Nothing much on the DVD front has arrived lately, but there should be a few on the way shortly I hope. I will be sorting though and getting July’s Blu-Ray and Manga releases posted soon enough.

Think you’ve missed something last month? Check out June’s Releases
Queens Blade - Steel Princess Yumil, I got this figure around the same time as the Chu x Chu Chua Churam and Queens Blade Airi Figures. I really didn’t like the colours on the original version of this figure, so when this alternate colour version was announced I ordered it straight away. Like the style of this figure, cute girl with huge axe!
